Activated plant carbon is capable of absorbing up to five times its own weight in water and the nutrients it contains. It thus acts as a catalyst and amplifier for traditional fertilizers, whether organic or mineral in origin. This makes it ideal for soil activation and oxygenated compost teas.
Vegetal charcoal improves the diffusion and availability of nutrients in the soil, and provides conditions conducive to the development of micro-organisms.
Biochar can be introduced into a wide variety of soils. It is particularly effective in poor, difficult and acid soils.
